For the Marylebone Food Festival, Boxcar Butcher is offering a special spring lamb and Barolo tasting evening on Sunday 28 April.
On arrival, guests will receive a glass of Prosecco with a selection of snacks to share. Boxcar’s lamb tasting board will include three different cuts of North Yorkshire Texel lamb – chargrilled rack of lamb, slow-cooked lamb shoulder & pan-roasted neck fillet, served with Jersey Royals, purple sprouting broccoli, homemade mint sauce & gravy. (Texel sheep are quite muscled as a result of roaming around the Yorkshire moors, so although the meat is quite lean, the fat is super tasty due to the scrub and grass they graze on.)
For the wine, Boxcar has chosen three biodynamic and organic Barolos (DOCG) from three different suppliers. This unique selection will showcase the differing styles of this much loved Nebbiolo-based red wine, made with both traditional and modern processes in Piedmont, northern Italy.
Tickets are priced at £55 pp
